On this page, you will find information about the Year 5 curriculum, expectations and how to support your child’s learning at home.

Location

Year 5 are located upstairs in the main building on the right-hand side.

Homework 

Homework is given out on Tuesday and returned the following Monday. Your child will receive two pieces oh homework each week: one Maths and one English (alternating between Grammar and Comprehension). Children are expected to spend 20 minutes on each piece of homework. 

Children will receive spellings every other Friday, which will be tested fortnightly. 

Reading

Reading records are handed in on Friday for checking. Children are expected to read a minimum of three times a week and this be recorded in their reading record. 

PE 

Swimming Monday afternoon. Children need to come into school in their school uniform, with a bag with their swimming kit in. 

PE Tuesday afternoon. Children need to come into school in their PE kits.
