Nursery Admissions and Provision 2016-17

The Orchard Primary School runs a morning nursery session 8.30am - 11.30am, Monday to Friday and an afternoon nursery session 12.30pm - 15.30pm, Monday to Friday. We have 1 intake for all Nursery children which starts in September each year. Due to the facilities at Orchard we require Nursery children to be 'Potty trained' and 'dry' before they start in September.
The school is part of a trial in Hertfordshire to provide parents with 30 hours free child care for Nursery aged children. If you would be interested in this contact the school office for more information.
If you would like to visit the school/nursery please contact the school office and they will arrange this for you.

  • If you child was born between 1 Sept 2013 & 31 Aug 2014 you can apply for a nursery place at Orchard.

The online admissions system will open on 6th February 2017. In the week commencing 30th January 2017, a leaflet will be sent home to all families with children in the relevant age range, registered with the NHS. Hertfordshire County Council has a duty to provide access to 15 hours a week of free early years provision for all three and four year olds.
If you would like to apply to Orchard, you need to apply online using the system from Hertfordshire County Council. In the event that the nursery is over subscribed, places will be allocated in accordance with the school's published admission arrangements. The County Council has published nursery admission arrangements for community nursery schools. These arrangements will be available on the online system.
